Training Course: Use sound to watch around II

The training course aims to develop competences of youth workers who work with young people, having physical disability (blind young people). Additionally, the participants of this project will learn how to work with blind young people and to help them to learn non formal educational methods and how to apply and realize their own projects.

Description
The main aim of the project is to develop the competences of European youth workers in the use of art & multimedia tools in youth work, mostly through music in order to promote the positive image of cultural diversity.
During the project we will explore key elements that refer to cultural diversity such as: personal cultural backgrounds, identity, nationality, religion and beliefs, living contexts, tensions, cultural sensitivity, prejudices and stereotypes.
The main idea of the project is to give youth workers new working methods for support unemployed youth with physical disability (blind young people) to learn to use music and sound design possibilities for employment/entrepreneurship. This is an Erasmus+ ka2 long term project, which will last till October 2017.

This training course aims to:
  • Examine barriers to participation and to help groups and young people to feel confident in taking part in Erasmus+ projects.
  • Explore the areas of Physical disability, in terms of support for participation in International projects
  • Provide the opportunity for partnerships to be created with a view to implementing future projects through Erasmus+
Project objectives:
-to develop competences of European youth workers, notably in the field of using multimedia and fostering cultural diversity
-to review and address essential knowledge, skills and attitudes for youth workers/activists working with disadvantaged target groups to offer to them practical tools how to work within cultural diversity
-to promote multimedia and non formal education among youth leader in promotion of cultural diversity
-to develop transversal skills of young people by using non-formal learning to develop their communication skills -to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular by encouraging young people to be leaders in their communities
-to explore European values such as cultural diversity, democracy and human rights and their importance for young people in partner countries -to promote cultural diversity as a resource for our society and stress its positive sides

Target Audience: Youth Workers/ Youth work practitioners* working directly with young people with disability (physical) and from organisations who are in a position to implement/lead these projects.
* The composition of the Greek group will be consisted of: 3 youth-workers, 1 blind young people and one assistant.

Costs

This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme.
– Being selected for this course, accommodation and lodging (breakfast-lunch and dinner) will be 100% covered by the host organisation.
Transport: 100% covered by the Erasmus+ program, within following limits:
Greece: 270 Euro/participant.

Participants who will exceed this travel cost, will be charged the additional cost
– There will be no Participation fee.
